I ended up watching this movie because I just saw how fantastic the mech was and got drawn in. How was it? Confusing, to say the least.

This is the lead guy, Sopp, fyi. Yeah bishoujounen at it’s finest in the late 80’s and early 90’s. I was so confused because this male voice kept coming out of this female body!

Seriously amazing art.

Did you get that? There’s some really great art and animation in this movie. But the story is just so jumbled and rushed, and CONDENSED into 1 hour that I barely got a grasp of what was going on the whole movie until the last 3 minute explanation at the end of the movie.

This is expected since this was taken from the first 3 volumes of the manga, so it’s not really supposed to be the entire story.

I kinda enjoyed it? I really wished there was more, but I’m not a manga person.

For a standalone movie I can’t really recommend this. You KNOW there’s just so much more to the storyline that wasn’t told, so to get the rest you’d have to read the manga.

Also, traps everywhere. 

So yeah, I’d give it a passing 7/10. Amazing art and animation, confusing, rushed story. Basically.
