So it’s been about two years ago that I first (and last) watched this show which quickly became one of my favorites. The time that I watched it was actually right at the start of my jumping back into anime, so It’s really been a long time… and I’ve been starting to question whether it was actually a good choice to be in my top 5.

Also, the last few anime I’ve completed just had a ton of cliches that really bothered me, so I decided to watch this again along with Bartender in hope of renewing my belief that anime can actually be pretty original and good.

Oh my GOD I forgot about this amazing fight scene since it’s already been a couple years when I last saw it. Brilliant.

Wow, I immediately thought of my exgirlfriend when Yuka popped up. I think it’s the hair, and also that we started talking around the time I picked up this show.

FUUUUUUUUU.

First impressions of my rewatch? The music is amazing. I’d actually immediately compare it to Cowboy Bebop because the music style’s pretty similar with the upbeat jazz throughout the show. The OP and ED are actually both really good. The opening actually reminds me of the Venture Brother’s opening for some obvious similarities as well.

As for the characters and the story so far? It makes SO MUCH more sense now that I’ve actually watched this before and have a decent grasp of what’s actually going on this early in the show. And I miss these characters a lot. Yuka and Toshihiko are such a good couple together.

And the art? I can see why people might not like it, but I welcome it with open arms, because of the sheer amount of moeshit that I’ve been used to. 

I’m so glad I’m rewatching this show.
